BACKGROUND: Thomas G. Lanier, a lifelong member and leader of Boy Scouts and

Venture Scouts, dedicated his time and resources to The development of youth. During his life, he

Helped thousands of boys and girls to develop Into young adult leaders. It is for this reason that

He has created a Scholarship Program For Boy Scouts.

 

 

THE SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship provides the opportunity for a Scout,

Who has attained the rank of Scout or Better who cannot or may not have the funds to do activities in His Troop.

 

 

SELECTION PROCESS: The selection will be conducted by members of the Scouting Committee.

 To receive the scholarship, recipients must be eligible for

Admission to Boy Scouts of America and in good Standing and must have earned the minimum rank or Scouter. The Committee will take in consideration for all applications but not everyone will or can be granted.

Part 2: QUALIFICATIONS

 

To qualify for the scholarship, the applicant must have/Be or to pertaining of:

  1.   A Registered Member of the Boy Scouts of America

  2.  Achieved the rank of Scouter

  3.  Received the recommendation of the Scout Master.

  4.  Approved by the Scouters Committee council.

  5.  Attached to this application an essay of 300 to 500 words outlining (1) lessons learned from Scouting (2) important role models (3) academic and career goals.

  6.  Submitted at least two letters of recommendation (one from outside of your Troop) These letters should attest to your candidacy for this scholarship. 

  7. A Letter of reasoning for assistance containing:

    2. And for what purpose.

    3.How will this help advance you to become an Eagle Scout? 

  

Part 3: CERTIFICATIONS

APPLICANT'S CERTIFICATIONS: I am presently in good Standing with the Boy Scouts of America and nothing would prevent my full participation.

 Part 4: Follow up

This is to insure that the scout was at the event and participated or scout function. A follow up from the Committee of the Thomas G Lanier Foundation will follow up with the Troop Master or Designee to re ensure that the scout participated at the event and was accounted for.  If for any reason the scout was not present he then loses and waves the right to the scholarship 100%.

  I certify to the accuracy of the foregoing facts in this application. I understand that this scholarship has requirements and if not meet could be asked to pay back in full all funds if not met. This I understand that a follow up will be retained and be asked for threw the scouters troop.
